เมื่อวันที่ 25–29 สิงหาคม 2569 นางสาวพรพิมล สุคันธวณิช รองอธิบดีกรมเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ ได้นำคณะผู้แทนภาคเอกชนไทย เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมทางธุรกิจ ณ นครเลกอส ประเทศไนจีเรีย และกรุงอาดดิสอาบาบา ประเทศเอธิโอเปีย ในโอกาสที่นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศเดินทางเยือนไนจีเรียและสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยเอธิโอเปียอย่างเป็นทางการ
กิจกรรมครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อขับเคลื่อนการทูตเศรษฐกิจ เชิงรุกและเปิดโอกาสทางการค้าและการลงทุนในตลาดใหม่ที่มีศักยภาพ ซึ่งทั้งสองประเทศเอธิโอเปียเป็นฐานการผลิตและกระจายสินค้าไปยังทวีปแอฟริกาตะวันออกและเป็นศูนย์กลางการคมนาคมทางอากาศของภูมิภาคแอฟริกา โดยกิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ มีผู้แทนภาคเอกชนและองค์กรเข้าร่วมจำนวน 9 แห่ง ได้แก่ (1) สภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย (2) ธนาคารเพื่อการส่งออกและนำเข้าแห่งประเทศไทย (3) บริษัทโซเล็กซ์ อินเตอร์เนชั่นแนล (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด (4) บริษัท เอสคิวไอ กรุ๊ป จำกัด (5) บริษัท อาร์.เจ.ลอนดอน จำกัด (6) บริษัท สตาร์ แคนเนอรี่ จำกัด (7) บริษัท CPP จำกัด (8) บริษัท SCG และ (9) บริษัท ปตท. น้ำมันและการค้าปลีก จำกัด (มหาชน)
ในโอกาสนี้ กรมเศรษฐกิจฯ ร่วมกับสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงอาบูจา และ สถานเอกอัคราชทูต ณ กรุงไนโรบี ได้จัดกิจกรรม business forum Thailand – Ethiopia: Building Business Bridges และการจับคู่ธุรกิจ (Business Matching) ในทั้งสองประเทศ ณ โรงแรม Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa เมือง Addis Ababa เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้ภาคเอกชนไทยได้เจรจาการค้าและสร้างเครือข่ายพันธมิตรกับผู้ประกอบการชาวเอธิโอเปียโดยตรง ในสาขาเป้าหมาย เช่น การเงินและธนาคาร เกษตรแแปรรูป เคมีภัณฑ์และวัสดุก่อสร้าง ผลิตภัณฑ์ฮาร์ดแวร์และเทคโนโลยีความปลอดภัย และพลังงาน โดยกิจกรรมดังกล่าวประสบสำเร็จตามวัตถุประสงค์และได้รับผลตอบรับในทิศทางที่ดีจากภาคเอกชนทั้งสองฝ่ายไทยและเอธิโอเปีย ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการวางรากฐานเพื่อขยายความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการค้าระหว่างกันอย่างยั่งยืนในอนาคต
นอกจากนี้ กรมเศรษฐกิจฯ ได้นำคณะกรมเศรษฐกิจฯ ยังได้พาคณะภาคเอกชนเข้าศึกษาดูงาน ณ AMG Gelan Industrial Park
ในกรุงอาดดิสอาบาบา เพื่อสำรวจโอกาสทางธุรกิจในกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมเกษตรแปรรูป เหล็ก พลังงาน และอสังหาริมทรัพย์
Department of International Economic Affairs Leads Thai Private Sector to Explore Business Opportunities in Nigeria and Ethiopia
On 25–29 August 2026, Ms. Pornpimol Sugandhavanija, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, led a delegation of Thai private sector representatives to participate in a series of business activities in Lagos and Addis Ababa, as part of the official visits to Nigeria and Ethiopia by H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The mission aimed to advance economic diplomacy and explore trade and investment opportunities in high-potential emerging markets, with both countries serving as key production and distribution hubs for the African continent. The delegation comprised representatives from 9 Thai companies and prominent organizations, including: (1) The Thai Chamber of Commerce, (2) Exim Bank, (3) Solex International (Thailand) Co., Ltd., (4) SQI Group Co., Ltd., (5) R.J. London Chemicals Industries Co., Ltd., (6) Star Cannery Co., Ltd., (7) CPP Co., Ltd., (8) SCG, and (9) PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR).
On this occasion, the Department of International Economic Affairs, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja and the Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi, organised business forums and business matching activities in both countries, providing Thai businesses with opportunities to engage in business negotiations and build networks with Nigerian and Ethiopian counterparts across key targeted sectors, including banking, agro-processing, chemicals, construction materials, hardware products and security technology, and energy.
The activities successfully achieved their objectives and received positive feedback from the private sectors of both sides. They contributed to strengthening business linkages and laid a solid foundation for future expansion of trade, investment and sustainable economic cooperation.
Furthermore, the delegation visited the AMG Gelan Industrial Park in Addis Ababa to explore business opportunities in agro-processing, steel, energy, and real estate development.

The mission aimed to advance proactive economic diplomacy and explore trade and investment opportunities in high-potential emerging markets, with Ethiopia serving as a key production and distribution hub for East Africa, as well as an aviation gateway for the African continent. The delegation comprised representatives from 9 Thai companies and prominent organizations, including: (1) The Thai Chamber of Commerce, (2) Exim Bank, (3) Solex International (Thailand) Co., Ltd., (4) SQI Group Co., Ltd., (5) R.J.
